GMU Open Day Friday 13 December
Workshops and lectures on how to survive at sea, the development of wind farms, the fundamentals of surveying and composite, the secrets of effective communication, career prospects in the offshore industry, visits to the University’s modern laboratories, and presentations by our student scientific circles - these are just some of the activities prepared by GMU staff and students for Open Day on Friday, 13 December 2024.
The event will take place both in the University’s main building on campus on Morska Street (ul. Morska 81-87) and at the Faculty of Navigation near Skwer Kościuszki in the city centre (al. Jana Pawła II 3).
GMU students will be on hand to guide all those interested around the University buildings, whilst sharing their knowledge and experience of studying at our University. Members of the University’s many student scientific circles will present details of their activities, and show potential candidates the opportunities to develop their skills and interests within these unique groups.
Attending the lecturers organised on the day, visitors will get the chance to experience what it’s like to be a student of one of our faculties.
The Open Day will also be a chance to obtain detailed information on the admissions process, the documents needed, applicable deadlines, and other important requirements to become a GMU student.
Career Prospects in the Offshore Industry
As part of this year's Open Day, students and visitors are invited to attend a specially prepared talk on “Careers in the Offshore Industry”, led by Professor Justyna Molenda, the Deputy Rector for Teaching in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and representatives from companies ORLEN and PGE Baltica.
The talk will take place in room B-21 at the following times:
